· Include Integrity · Stay Safe · Own Your Choices · Never Give Up You might notice that is the same language that is on the back of our Monday Bison Shirt. We have been teaching our expectations, posting them in areas throughout the building and reinforcing them with "BISON BUCKS". Students earn and cash-in Bison Bucks for extra privileges like lunch with friend, hat passes, stuffed animal passes and even lunch with the principals. Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior: At times, children may not make the best behavior choices and need redirection. To address unexpected behavior, a campus wide continuum of consequences will be implemented. Our goal is to use those opportunities as teaching moments and keep students in the classroom as much as possible. 1. General reminder/verbal warning will be given about expected behavior. 2. A brief private student-teacher conference will occur to discuss behavior expectations. 3. The student will be asked to move to the reflection area in the classroom to complete a behavior reflection sheet, which will be sent home for parent signature. The student will return to their normal seat after the reflection is complete. 4. Teacher will make a parent phone call. 5. An office referral will be sent to the assistant principal. ** Certain actions warrant immediate administrative involvement such as fighting, possession of contraband or weapons, harassment and threats. We ask your help in encouraging your students to earn Bison Bucks, and talking with them about the behavior choices they have made. We are excited about PBIS on our campus and know our students with thrive in a positive learning environment. Have questions? Just ask! We are here to partner with you to make this a wonderful year! |
